A Charity very close to my heart - BC are dedicated to monitoring and protecting butterflies, moths and their habitats. Income is channelled directly into conservation including large scale habitat restoration and re-introduction of extinct species
The John Muir Trust are a conservation charity dedicated to protecting and enhancing wild places. They organise work parties to plant trees, manage hill footpaths and engage people with the land. They are also involved with rewilding
Birders Against Wildlife Crime are a volunteer run campaign group. They aim to increase public awareness about illegal raptor persecution and make it easier for people to identify and report. They are also responsible for the brilliant "Hen Harrier Day"
Buglife is a brilliant conservation charity aimed at protecting invertebrate species and their habitats. Their website also contains some good identification resources.
A fantastic organisation replanting the ancient caledonian forest and helping to rewild Scotland. They offer some great week-long volunteering opportunities and are well worth your support.
There are already established population of beavers in Scotland and England - Wales now needs some help funding its own reintroduction programme. This is a really important cause and a great leap forward in rewilding our landscape
Recently voted the most cost effective charity working on mitigating climate change. Cool Earth works by protecting indigenous people and their livelihoods - ensuring that the rainforest is worth more to them standing than by cutting it down
This organisation is working hard to protect our native bees and other pollinators. Friends of the bees create and promote pollinator friendly habitat as well as opposing pesticides. They also encourage bee keepers to adopt nature friendly practises.
